British Values

In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.

The Key Values are:

  • democracy
  • rule of law
  • individual liberty
  • mutual respect
  • tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

Each year, the pupils democratically elect a new school council to act as the voice of the pupils in the school and wider community.

The School Council visited the Houses of Parliament on Tuesday 14th November 2023 to attend a workshop on ‘Debating and Democracy’ and to receive a tour of the Palace of Westminster.

The members of the School Council meet each week to debate and vote on the issues concerning pupils in the school with the aim of ensuring the school continues to be a wonderful place for all of our pupils and staff.
